History of Scotline Tours / Links History of Scotline Coach Tours, Edinburgh Scotland ... Scotline Tours has been a family run business since 1970. After several successful years providing package holidays by bus, we began our Sightseeing and Excursion Bus Tours of Scotland. We now offer a Day Tour programme by bus, from the capital city Edinburgh, throughout the beautiful Scottish countryside.

Our bus tour offices are on the world famous Royal Mile, the heart of Edinburgh's tourist trail. Scotline produce their own bus tour brochure, which is distributed throughout the domestic travel agency network, The Edinburgh & Lothian's Tourist Board, and The Scottish Tourist Board. Owing to the success of our company, in 1985 we took the opportunity to start our own coach company, Capital Coaches.

On the 1st May 2001, Scotline Tours and Capital Coaches became part of the Austin Travel group, an established coach company based in the Scottish Borders. Austin Travel has been providing coach travel throughtout Scotland, and with their European tour programme, they tour as far south into Europe as the Swiss Alps. Austin Travel have been operating tours for over 38 years.

Scotline Tours are constantly involved in their vehicle replacement programme, and we now have a fleet of the latest, most exclusive, Mercedes Benz powered coaches operating in Britain. These luxury Scotline Tour coaches, seat between 27 and 57 passengers, and feature state-of-the-art air conditioning, toilet, servery and a modern entertainment system.

Although coach tours are Scotline's main area of business we also offer the hire of our coaches, on a private hire basis. The Scotline Tours coaches are availiable for extended bus tours, corporate tours, and conference work, etc.
