Loch Katrine
A Taste of Scotland
History – Lochs – Glens and Castles
Crossing the River Forth with views of the famous Rail Bridge we head to Dunfermline, the birthplace of Andrew Carnegie's. We visit the ancient Abbey, where Robert The Bruce is buried.
We then drive through rolling countryside to Doune Castle, one of the best preserved 14th Century medieval castles in Scotland. This was the set for the film "Monty Python and The Holy Grail".
After a photo stop we make our way to Loch Katrine. Here you will have the opportunity to take lunch and sail on the loch to experience the magnificent scenery of the Trossachs. Alternatively there are other activities such as bike hire or walking alongside the loch.
After this beauty spot we drive through the Trossachs stopping for pictures.
On our way home we stop at Linlithgow Palace. This famous royal residence is steeped in Scottish history.
